Lisa Hamilton bested 1,059 hopefuls and tore through the final table to take home her first World Series bracelet and the title of Ladies No Limit Hold'em Champion.

Many pros turned out to join the colorful amateur field. Erica Schoenberg finished just inside the money bubble, and defending champion Svetlana Gromenkova and J.J. Liu made it deep into Day 2. By Day 3, however, Lisa Parsons was the only professional poker player left standing. Parsons was eliminated in brutal runner-runner fashion in 7th place.

The final table attracted one of the biggest crowds to date, and the Amazon room was repeatedly rocked by screams and cheers coming from the rail. Angel Pedroza was the first to take a commanding lead, but after dropping a few big hands to Hamilton, Pedroza finished in 4th place. The path was then clear for Hamilton to dominate, and she went from the final three to champion in half an hour. Mary Lou Morrelli, one of two regulars from a home game in Los Angeles to reach the final table, took home 3rd place, leaving Hamilton heads up with Lori Bender. Only a few hands into heads-up play, Bender got aggressive with middle pair, and Hamilton made a difficult call to send Bender home as runner-up with $120,575.

Lisa Hamilton, a 37-year-old from Hawaii, was playing in one of her first live tournaments. Normally a cash-game player, she was introduced to tournaments by her good friend Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. ElkY, Arnaud Mattern, and Eric Liu cheered her on from the rail throughout the final table. For her work over two tough days and three-and-half hour final table, Hamilton pockets $195,390 and, of course, a new gold bracelet.
